We had a wonderful experience at Bistro L’Hermitage! The atmosphere was warm and elegant, and the service was outstanding—our waiter was incredibly kind and attentive. We went to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it was absolutely worth it. The food was delicious from start to finish, and to top it off, they surprised us with a complimentary chocolate birthday cake, which made the evening even more special. We truly appreciated the thoughtful touch and can’t wait to come back again!

A really great experience. The head manager/owner (Moun) is a really welcoming person . His is also well traveled , very knowledgeable of various parts of the world . I was amazed that he knew the music and culture of Congo where I am from . He set the tone for all the staff to ensure that you have a very pleasant time . The food is wonderful. Plenty of parking . I am glad that I have found this little gem 💎. A wonderful bistro. I highly recommend.

Never disappoints. Elevated dining experience with a Cozy atmosphere, close to home. Reservations are required. Most times I prefer dining here over the city for special occasions. I love that they always inquire and make effort to make it memorable. I usually get the same hosts. Even after years of patronage. I kind of feel like it’s by design. They welcome me “home” each visit. Same day reservations are usually not an issue. Mother’s Day was the only event I can recall needing to make arrangements a week in advance. Chilean Sea Bass is always perfection. Fried oysters and scallops are also a favorite…really anything seafood does not miss.

We were four diners enjoying brunch, and really enjoyed it.
The service and food were excellent. We ordered onion soup, fried oysters, mushroom bisque, and mushroom risotto as starters. The first three were phenomenal; the fourth I might skip, as it came as two separate bowls of the creamy risotto and sauteed rice, and was on the bland side, though texture was lovely (counterpoint: another diner loved this dish, so it's just a flavor preference). For mains we ordered hangar steaks and eggs Benedict. There was none left, it was delicious and cooked perfectly. We unfortunately left no room for dessert, as portions were generous and accompanied by a fantastic fresh bread basket.
Despite this, the staff graciously served us a mousse to share as we had made reservations for a celebration. It was hands down the best mousse au chocolate I've had in many years.
Location was easy to find, though you are middle of residential area. Recommend planning ahead so you can enjoy wine selection.
Recommend a visit, and will be back!

Good food good service. I don’t remember our server, she was nice. Tried to explain details of food. One thing that I’d like recommend her is that she needs to put more her confidence, don’t be shy when talking with customers. We don’t bite. Be confident so customers will believe what you say.

We came for Valentine’s Day and had an amazing experience. The restaurant was beautifully decorated with heart balloons everywhere, and the atmosphere felt elegant — they took our coats at the door, which made it feel extra special.
My pork chop was perfectly cooked — juicy and full of flavor — and the steak my partner had was incredible. The grilled lamb sausage appetizer, desserts, and wine were all excellent.
Highly recommend for a romantic night out — we can’t wait to go back!

What an amazing experience! Have been wanting to visit for a while and finally made it in for a date night. Right from the reception, everything about the evening was outstanding. The service was prompt, pleasant and attentive. The food was served incredibly fast and tasted absolutely delicious! We had the onion soup and salade verte to start, the filet and tuna for dinner and crème brûlée for dessert. The ambience was great and welcoming too. Overall an exceptional experience and we will be back!

We celebrated my birthday at Bistro L’Hermitage, and it was perfect! The exterior looks like a charming medieval cottage, and the ambiance inside is beautiful, with fresh flowers on every table. We loved the fresh bread and appetizers: fried oysters, escargots, crab & shrimp cake, and seafood soup. Our entrées (Chilean sea bass, salmon, beef bourguignon, and duo confit de canard et veau) were all delicious and generously portioned. Our server, Carlos, was friendly and attentive, and he surprised us with complimentary mousse au chocolat for my birthday. A wonderful meal and experience all around!

We celebrated my wife’s birthday and it was absolutely amazing! As their website implied, “A Hidden French Gem In Occoquan”, we couldn’t agree more. The food, customer service and overall atmosphere were outstanding. We had French onion and tomato soup for appetizer. We then had salmon, pork chop and sea bass for the entree. We finished with Grand Trio (chocolate mousse, crème brûlée, & Lemon meringue tart with raspberry coulis) and cheesecake. My wife said it was one of the best crème brûlée’s she ever had. Since it was her birthday they gave her a free champagne drink during dessert. We will definitely be back and I strongly recommend giving this place a try.
